Smart HR Consulting tips: What Should Employees Wear To work

Have you ever wondered what you have to wear to the office? It isn’t an easy concept in today’s business environment. The past of having guys wear ties and suits and girls wear skirts suits with hosiery are extinct; and I suspect permanently. That doesn’t mean anything goes or that it doesn’t matter with what people wear at the office. It very certainly does. What employees wear happens to be a direct representation of them and it is their responsibility to look respectable.

Easy dress at work is now widely ok. It certainly looks silly for employers to set up unnecessary dress code regulation. I ran across a post on this human resources consulting website and the associated suggestions (warning a few of them are not censored). I agree with pressing hr consultants and management in regards to unneeded dress code regulations however I couldn’t forget the days at a former employer when we started casual Fridays (jeans). As in each different company I have been in, a few workers pushed the limits or simply didn’t pay attention to the dress code entirely. Some workers began wearing inappropriate clothing like tank tops, flip flops and graphic t shirts.

I logically get the IT dude who happens to be saying “Why should it matter if I wear flip flops, shorts and tee shirts to the office when my job happens to be only programming?” Still, according to wise human resources management consulting, the reality happens to be that this dude is part of a larger community of professionals and a few basic dress regulations are helpful. I did say PROFESSIONALS and while I don’t feel a tie needs to be mandatory, being a beach bum or a slob isn’t right for any office environment.

So I say “YES!” to a dress regulation. As the boss you will have defined your expectations and that is always great. But, I warn you to be logical, focus on what happens to be needed to perform good work and what is considered as normal, decent and appropriate in your office environment.

When the United Nations began deliberation on the Palestinian Authority’s demand for a unilateral recognition of a Palestinian state in mid-September 2011, it ignored the fact that the Gaza half of that proposed state is ruled by a group, Hamas, that has called for the destruction of Israel and a genocide against the Jewish people. This event, Daniel Greenfield writes, reminds us once again that…
