Unless you have the money to outsource to a professional copywriter, it is in your best interest to learn about the fine art of psychological selling. Literally, your degree of success will rest on your ability to use some of these principles in any business endeavor.
You may have heard this one before but it is true, all buying is based on emotions and not logic. Once you succeed with producing certain feelings for the product in the customers mind, then you have your foot solidly in the door. For example, a person may want to buy a car based on what he sees and how he feels about it, but unless he goes through the technical details about it and checks out the prices, he won’t decide to buy it. Exactly, when anyone can sometimes and perhaps usually easily justify spending money even if they cannot afford it, then it still happens – you know that.
If you can create some legitimate sense of urgency, then you should go ahead and do that. The thing about many of these psychological appeal devices is they can backfire on you only if you go overboard with them or just plain do it badly. You simply have to figure out a way to make people believe they need to buy today and not later. Do not overdo it and blow your best time sensitive enticing device too soon. There are so many ways you can work this, so do not feel like there is absolutely nothing you can do.
